The Worthington Trojan Gymnastics Team had another great season! The team finish 13-0 in dual meets; set several new school records, they were the Big South Conference Champs, and the Section 3A champs. They competed in their third straight state class A meet and had three individuals compete as well.
The state meet had its ups and down for the Trojans, but overall the girls had fun and did their best! The Trojans scored a 138.7 as a team at the state meet, which gave them an 8th place finish. The Trojans were hoping for a better finish, but are proud and honored to have the opportunity to compete and be a part of the state meet. At the individual state class A meet on Saturday the Trojans had three competitors, Taylor Eggers, Maria Contreras, and Gracia Elias. They too were excited and happy to be able to take part in such an awesome event. Taylor had a 9.15 on the floor, 9.0 on the vault, and a 33.575 in the all-around. Maria had an 8.375 on the bars, and Gracia a 8.075 on the beam.
Now that the season has come to an end the Trojans set their sites on next seasons and what it has in store. Hopeful with hard work and determination an even better story to tell!
