The Adrian Volleyball Team held their annual awards banquet at the Countryside Inn on November 12. The night was filled with laughter, conversation, reflection, and delicious food.
The following awards were given out: Most Improved Player went to Brianna Reckamp, Jaimie Ross, and Rylie Hokenss; the Ace Award went to Brianna Reckamp, Shawna Rogers, and Kasie Tweet; the Hustle Award went to Jayden Zebe, Jennifer Preuss, and Mayssa Tweet; the Spirit Award went to Martiza Beltran, Jennifer Preuss, and Paige Tweet; the Offensive Player Award was given to Jayden Zebe, Bailey Lonneman, and Lexi Slater; the Defensive Player Award was given to Kendra Frodermann, Sabdi Bravo, and Alexia Kemper; and the MVP Award was given to Maritza Beltran, Jennifer Preuss, and Kasie Tweet. Maritza Beltran, Shawna Rogers, Taylor Loosbrock, and Paige Bullerman each received the Dragon Award.
The varsity team earned the Academic All State Team Award which is awarded to varsity teams who achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better. Teams who achieve an average of 3.75 or better are awarded the Gold Academic Award. The GPA average comes from the top 10 highest GPAs on the team from sophomores to seniors.
The players who have achieved the Gold Academic Award are: Paige Tweet, Paige Bullerman, Miah Kunkel, Lexi Slater, Rylie Hokeness, Taylor Loosbrock, Alexia Kemper, Avery Balster, Kasie Tweet, and Bailey Lonneman.
The following seniors were awarded the Academic All State Award for having a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or better: Taylor Loosbrock, Paige Bullerman, Lexi Slater, Paige Tweet, and Alexia Kemper. Kasie Tweet and Miah Kunkel were give All Conference honors while Lexi Slater also earned an All Conference Honorable Mention.
Lettering in Volleyball for 2017 were athletes and managers: Kasie Tweet, Avery Balster, Miah Kunkel, Paige Bullerman, Rylie Hokenss, Alexia Kemper, Taylor Loosbrock, Lexi Slater, Paige Tweet, Bailey Lonneman, Shawna Rogers, Autumn Grussing, Jennifer Preuss, Mayssa Tweet, and Emma Fuerstenberg.
