Funeral services for Vivian Viola Mueller, age 96, of Adrian, were held Monday, May 14, 2018, at Zion Lutheran Church, in Adrian, MN officiated by Monsignor Richard Colletti and Bob Ossefort. Burial was in the Adrian Cemetery. Vivian died Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at the Adrian Country Living Cottages. She was born November 16, 1921, in Kittson County, MN, to Andrew & Lena (Olson) Olson. Vivian was the youngest of eleven children. She worked many various jobs prior to her marriage.
Vivian married Bill “Jr” Mueller on June 19, 1946, at the First Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the rural Lismore, Kenneth and Adrian areas. Vivian was a farm wife until 1966 when she & Jr opened the Home Café in Adrian. After selling the café in 1973, Vivian worked at the Arnold Memorial Nursing Home and she helped at the Senior Dining Center in Adrian. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Adrian. Vivian was one of the best softball short stops in the area; she made the best lefse and was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her “Mom Monday!”
Vivian is survived by her three daughters, Carolyn (Bill) Ketterling, Luverne, MN; Cindy (Ching) Heitkamp, Adrian, MN; and Connie (Bob) Kunkel, Adrian, MN; seven grandchildren, Mike (Laurie) Ketterling, Scott (Lisa) Ketterling, Tom Ketterling, Tad (Michele) Heitkamp, Tracy (Scott) Altman, Dawn (Jeff) Kopplow, and Bobby (Tracy) Kunkel; fourteen great-grandchildren, Jesse & Alicia Kontz; Lyndsey Ketterling; Peyton & Aftyn Heitkamp; Riley & Raegen Altman; Brendon, Jordin & Logan (girlfriend, Kennedy Fitzgerald) Kopplow; and Bradden, Miah, Kyler & Bryson Kunkel; a sister-in-law, Delores DeVos, Waconia, MN; three brothers-in-law, Don “Cannon” (Mary) Mueller, Rushmore, MN; Darrell (Marlene) Mueller, Worthington, MN; and Alvin (Karen) Mueller, Council Bluffs, IA; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jr. on November 21, 1994; son, Jeff in 1973; and an infant daughter, Robyn in 1965; five brothers, Bennett, Clifford, Oscar, Lester and Alf; and five sisters, Nellie Anderson, Alma Hultgren, Amelia Hultgren, Myrtle Thom and Edna Bruns.
Dingmann and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements
