A Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas Leo Seitz, age 61, formerly of Ellsworth, MN, was held Friday, July 28, 2017, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellsworth, MN, officiated by Fr. James Sietz and Fr. Thomas Jennings. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery in Ellsworth. Thomas died suddenly on Monday, July 24, 2017, at his home. Thomas was born April 11, 1956, in Adrian, MN, to Leo and Gertrude (Seivert) Seitz. Tom resided in Sioux Falls, SD. He enjoyed going to the library to read local newspapers. Tom took special pride in being a land owner. He was proud of his tree trimming business. Tom also owned and operated a furnace cleaning business called “Captain Clean”.
His faith in God was important to him. He was a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellsworth, MN, and a current member of St. Joseph Cathedral in Sioux Falls, SD.
Tom is survived by his eight siblings, Mary Ilgen, Hopkins, MN; Fabian Seitz, Minneapolis, MN; Barbara (John) Fink, Mankato, MN; Patricia (Kenneth) Stubbe, Shakopee, MN; Margaret (Bryce) Goembel, Luverne, MN; Father James Seitz, Jackson, MN; Susan Thies, Sioux Falls, SD; and Laurie (Tim) Block, John’s Island, SC; many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo in 1990, and Gertrude in 1994; brother, Bill in 1986; brother-in-law, Clifford Ilgen; sister-in-law, Marcia Sietz; and two neices, Tara Sue and Ashley Marie Thies.
