The Last Sunday Mass at St. Kilian

The last Sunday Mass on June 26th at St. Kilian Catholic Church took place on a perfectly beautiful day, and plans, that parishioners made to achieve an uplifting memorial tribute to the church’s 129-year history, couldn’t have worked out better.  Approximately 400 attendees came from as far away as California, Iowa, South Dakota, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Nebraska, and distance areas of MN, to as close as across the street from the church.  They came as early as an hour before Mass to find a place to sit in the pews of the sanctuary.  In the front pew sat the nuns, including Sr. Davida Loosbrock, Sr. Mary Fredrich, Sr. Agnes Claire Krogman, Sr. Alene Kuhn, Sr. Doris Welter, Sr. Cheryl Marie Wagner, and Rose Marie McGrath.

In the hour or more preceding the Mass there was a loud buzz throughout the church as many visited with family members or someone they knew sitting close by.   Many also took time to really take a good look at the interior of this little country church for what may be their last time.
