The Adrian High School Speech team traveled to Janesville, Minn., Saturday, March 17. The team placed 10th out of 22 teams at the meet.
Earning awards were Felicity Alvarado who was second in Great Speeches; Tommy Morrison placed first in the Novice Original Oratory division and Jayda Castaway was third. The novice division is open to students who are in their first year of speech. Aaron Rojas was second in the Novice Humorous division. Sabdi Bravo was fourth in Informative Speaking, Arianna VanMeveren was sixth in Storytelling, Maritza Beltran was seventh in Poetry and Alexia Kemper earned honorable mention in Extemporaneous Reading.
The next competition for the team is Saturday, March 24 at Southwest Minnesota State University.
