Propelled by several finalists and honorable mention points, the Adrian Speech team came home with the second place team trophy in the limited entry division at the Southwest Minnesota State University Invitational Saturday, March 18. The team was one point from first place, which was claimed by Underwood. Worthington was third. Twenty A and AA schools participated with more than 300 entries in the meet.
With only eight entries, Adrian collected points with a third place in Informative Speaking by Zack Loosbrock and a fourth place in the same category by Sabdi Bravo. Maritza Beltran was fifth in Serious Poetry. Earning honorable mention points in Duo Interpretation were Arianna VanMeveren and Trinity Grimord. Sara Knips won honorable mention in Serious Prose.
The meet marks the end of the regular season for the team. Adrian hosts the Sub-section 10 Tuesday, March 28.
