SPECIAL MEETING ADRIAN BOARD OF EDUCATION
FEBRUARY 21, 2017
Board Chair Lenz called the special meeting of the Adrian Board of Education to order at 6:00 P.M. on February 21, 2017. All members present, along with Superintendent Graff.
The purpose for the special meeting was to discuss options due to the passing of Tim Christensen, High School Principal.
Mr. Graff provided information about crisis intervention for the staff and students. SWMN Crisis Support Team of trained grief counselors and pastors were on hand throughout the day on February 21, 2017.
Mr. Graff recommended to appoint Cate Koehne, as a “teacher on special assignment”, to fill the role of MS/HS Dean of Students. In addition to the extra days that will be added to her teaching contract in June, Mr. Graff recommended a stipend to be added to her salary for the extra responsibilities that are required from this position. Motion by Sieve, seconds by Kunkel to approve recommendations as presented, motion carried.
Mr. Graff discussed the plan for Mrs. Koehne’s classroom instructor replacement.
Discussed a School Board gift to the Christensen family.
Motion by Bullerman, seconded by Wolf to adjourn the special February 21, 2017 meeting of the Adrian Board of Education at 6:41 P.M., motion carried.
