Review Staff Writer Sledders in Adrian can spend a little more time enjoying the Minnesota snow thanks to generous donations of material and time. Sledding “Killer Hill” from Upper (Grove)Park as a kid has been a tradition for generations in Adrian. This year, thanks to donations from Henning Construction and Voss Lumber and the building talents of the Adrian High School Construction Technology Class, kids will now have a warming house at the top of the hill in the park.
This was a great opportunity for the Construction Technology students: Jeffrey Cauwels, Nick Harder, Bradden Kunkel, Landon Rogers, Evan Schettler, Mitchell Veld, Rebekah Walton and Josh Zemler, to put some of the skills they have learned in class from Neal Mulder to good use. While the weather has not been sled friendly it has certainly been builder friendly and the class has completed the building of the shed, and are now waiting for the siding and windows to install. Soon it will be ready for the snow to come, so the kids can enjoy some sledding. The warming house will be open to the public once the class has put all the finishing touches on it.
Thank you to Henning Construction, Voss Lumber and the Construction Technology Class for giving the kids even more reason to head outside and enjoy some old fashioned Minnesota winter fun.
