Second Ecumenical Youth work day another success

On Wednesday, July 17, we got together for the second work day for the ecumenical youth group.  Despite the rainy day, that put a twist on the jobs that were scheduled to do, we managed to stay busy.  Thirteen of us headed out to Wilmont to help Carolyn Penning pack up and clean her sister’s house.  Her sister, Jill Paulzine, was moved into the Meadows in Worthington.  After a couple of hours, everything was out of the house and the house was ready to move on to the next owner.  From there we moved to the VFW in Wilmont where we cleaned down the kitchen walls, readying the room for paint, that we will complete next work day.  After lunch, we headed to Brenda Loosbrock’s landscaping in Lismore.  By then the sun had come out and it was a little intense!  We worked on weeding the landscaping along the front of the house, before coming back to Adrian about 3:00 p.m to help the city crew move the Senior dining center to their new home in the EMS building.  It was another great day and we left behind some really happy people.  That is our goal!

Our next and last work day for this summer is set for August 7th.  This is a really great way to get some community hours in towards your National Honor Society goals.  We have a number of jobs that will be completed that day, so come and help if you are available- Sixth graders through Seniors are welcomed.  Contact Michele Wieneke at 507-227-6456, Julie Winselman at 507-360-3128 or Deb Kroon at 507-360-7671.  It’s not too late to get involved.
