There is no doubt we are living in an ever changing digital world. As we become more dependent on our digital tools and social media safety and privacy become key topics that need to be addressed.
We may find it challenging to keep up with fast changing technology along with plenty of good things that come with our involvement in social media there are potential dangers that can be avoided. We should become more aware of the dangers luring online and learn some precautions to keep ourselves and our family safe.
Ellsworth Public School in partnership with Hope Harbor are holding a Social Media and Online Safety program on December 4th at the Ellsworth High School Gym at 7:00 pm. Melissa Bruns, Program Director with Hope Harbor will be the speaker. The goal of the safety session is to bring both education and awareness to students, teachers, parents and caregivers in an effort to maintain security and privacy in the digital world. There is no charge for this session, parents, teachers, caregivers and students are encouraged to come out and learn what they can do to protect themselves while continuing to participate in the digital world.
