Funeral Services for Ryan John Marvin Klenken, were held on July 1, 2020, at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Worthington, MN with John Nau officiating. Ryan passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at the age of 37. He was born April 23, 1983 in Adrian, MN, the son of Gary and Roberta (Spoelstra) Klenken. He graduated from Adrian High School in 2001. He was united in marriage to Hilary Erpestad on June 21, 2008 in Worthington.
Ryan was a master plumber and part owner of Brewster Heating & Cooling for the last twelve years. He was a man of many talents, a guy who could fix anything and was always willing to lend a hand to help anyone. Ryan helped his father with field work and in the hog barns. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling, anything outdoors from hunting to fishing, and being a pit crew member for his friends. Ryan was amazing at smoking meat, and looked forward to his favorite night of the week, Friday Night Steak Night.
Ryan’s entire world revolved around the love of his life Hilary and his three girls. Whether it was a side by side ride, movie night, or fishing for “bulleyes”, you could find him doing something that was putting a smile on their faces. Ryan and Hilary spent their marriage traveling, trying out new restaurants, and remodeling their “forever home” on the acreage. His latest passion came last summer as they purchased their first lake home on Lake Shetek. Ryan spent the entire winter remodeling from top to bottom and finished the project this spring. He enjoyed spending as much of his free time as he could with his family on the lake, from pontoon rides, to fishing, to late night bonfires; the lake was his happy place.
Ryan is survived by his wife of twelve years, Hilary; three daughters, Kristin, Kinsey, and Kenna; his parents, Gary and Roberta Klenken of Wilmont, MN; one sister, Melissa Van Ruler (Dane Christensen) of Wilmont, MN and their children, Kacee, Kelsey, Dylan, and Ty; mothers-in-law, Sharon Erpestad of Windom, MN and Karen Erpestad of Lakefield, MN, and sister-in-law, Heather (Joe) Leighty of Brewster, MN and their children, Madison (Christian), Kiana (Cole), and Gavin. He is also survived by many other family and friends.
Ryan was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, his father-in-law, Reid Erpestad, and brother-in-law, Keith Erpestad.
Benson Funeral Home in Worthington was in charge of the arrangements.
