Anytime a new business opens in Adrian, the community benefits, but when the new owner is a familiar face, the benefit is even greater.

Opening a salon in the back half of Rustic Razor Barber Shop is Adrian native Tasha (Lange) Spykeboer.  Tasha, who is the daughter of Mike Lange, grew up in Adrian and graduated from AHS in 2012.  She has been married to Kyler Spykeboer for four years and they have two children, Breilee, who is 5 years old and Coati who is two,  They make their home on an acreage north of Ellsworth.

“I’ve known for a long time that this was what I wanted to do,” Tasha said.   “I attended two different colleges before enrolling at Avalon in Worthington.  Nothing I did compared to my desire to be a Cosmetologist, so I finally took a leap of faith in 2015.  It’s been a long time dream of mine to own a salon/clothing boutique in Adrian.”

Tasha will be open for business starting this week.  She will be doing hair cuts, men (when Randy is gone), women and childrens; colors, perms, wedding and prom styles, making her a full-service salon.  She plans on working Mondays, 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Tuesday-Thursdays 9 a.m.-5 p.m  and Saturdays by appointment only.  Once she is established, or when she’s there, she will happily take walk-ins.  You can call her for an appointment at 507-360-3098.

“I first approached Randy after graduating from Avalon.  At that time I didn’t have enough hours to booth rent, so I went to work at Hair, LTD in Luverne,  For now I am renting the back section of Rustic Razor, continuing my career in Cosmetology here and am working on getting an online boutique set up.  I am thankful for the opportunity Randy has given me and am super excited for the doors this is going to open up for me in the future.  Adrian is my home and I am so happy to add to such an already awesome community.”

“Mary and I welcome Tasha into the barber shop,” Randy said.  “She is renting the back space for now.  We hope that everyone will give her a chance to establish her business.  We are especially glad to have her here, so that the door is always open.  Although I am not retiring, Mary and I want to take more time to travel to see our granddaughter’s ball games, school activities, etc., and while we are gone, Tasha will be there to take care of the customers.  Welcome Tasha to our business!”
