The Rushmore and Lismore Fire Departments made use of the money raised at Ribs and Rims and their department fundraisers with purchases of Thermal Imaging Cameras. (TIC) Thermal Imaging is a tool that helps firefighters “see through the smoke” by using infrared or thermal energy to detect lead markers.
Thermal imaging can be used in a variety of situations, but the most common are search and rescue, missing persons, hotspots and fire origins.
