Robert Dale Dykema,age 86, of Ellsworth, MN died Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Born December 26, 1933, in rural Worthington, MN, he was the son of Albert and Gertrude (Overman) Dykema. He married Jennie Spykerboer on August 19, 1953, in Worthington.
Robert attended country school in rural Worthington. After marriage, Robert and Jennie lived on the outskirts of Reading, MN where Robert farmed, and later near Rushmore, MN while he worked at Cashway Lumber Store in Worthington. In 1972, Robert returned to farming near Ellsworth and continued to farm until his retirement in 1996. After retirement he resided in Worthington for a year, then moved back to Ellsworth. He resided in the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth since 2016.
Surviving Robert are his daughter, Lori (Rick) Arnold, New Richland, MN; son, Duane Dykema, Monterey, CA.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jennie; brothers, Ted and Don; sisters, Ida and Elva; sons, Billy and Howard; and one grandson, Levi.
