Funeral services for Richard Grussing, age 47, of Rushmore, MN, were held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at St. Adrian Catholic Church, in Adrian with Pastor Kristi Franken officiating. Burial was in Sunset Rest Cemetery in Rushmore, MN.
Richard Grussing died Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Sanford Worthington Medical Center. He was born March 30, 1970 in Worthington, Minnesota to Myron and Claribel (Groenewold) Grussing. He attended school in Adrian, graduating in 1988 from Adrian High School. Richard then attended South Dakota State University, graduating in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture. After his graduation he returned to partner with his father on the family farm near Rushmore.
He was united in marriage to Kimberly Dugan at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake, Iowa in 1993. They made their home in Rural Rushmore and raised three daughters, who were his pride and joy.
Richard was a lifelong member of the Adrian Methodist Church, serving as Treasurer on the Administrative Board. He loved his family and enjoyed following his daughters’ many activities. Richard also enjoyed driving truck and spending time with his family at home on the farm. He took great pride in his well-earned title as “Favorite Uncle”.
Richard is survived by his wife Kimberly Grussing, his three daughters; Bailey (21), Brooke (19) and Autumn (16), all of Rushmore. He is also survived by his parents; Myron and Claribel Grussing, Rushmore, MN, his siblings, Deborah (Lorenzo) Perez, Highland CA, Mark (Paula) Grussing, Platte, SD, and Kathryn (Chad) Duwenhoegger, Alexandria, MN, and several nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Dingmann Funeral Home, in Adrian, was in charge of arrangements.
