This is not so much a “History Mystery” as it is a “Remember When?” kind of story. Among the archives that we sent over to the Nobles County Historical Society is this photo, highlighting the all-girls baseball team from St. Anthony Lismore. These amazing young ladies accrued ten 1st place trophies and were the SW Minnesota Champs in 1950, 1951, 1952, and 1954; they were the Loretto Champions from 1944 to 1950; the team held first place in the County League in 1953 and 1954; they placed first in the Edgerton Tournament in 1952, and first place in the County Tournament in 1954.
In this photo, the team members are listed under their maiden names. Just for fun, can you name them all now? And, for those of you with good memories, you will see that the coach is Leo Diekman.
