“Redwood Brings Out Multiple Season Best Times”

Weather was great to race and the course in Redwood Falls was perfect for cross country racing. The first race for the Dragons on the day was the boy’s junior high race 2,700 meter run. Eighth grader Bruce Farinella led the charge for the Dragon middle school runners as he had a fantastic effort and he placed 11th in a very competitive race, running the course in 11:40. Cam Hinsch was the next Dragon across the ran as he continued to have an impressive season, running the race in 16:24. The next race on the course was the varsity girl’s 5,000 meter run. Senior Moriah Bullerman ran her way to 3rd place overall and had her best 5K time of the season as she completed the run in 20:26. Following Bullerman was another season best performance by teammate Hiltyn Heitkamp as she ran 23:16 and placed 23rd overall. Gracia was the 3rd season best time on the day as she had a great effort to run 24:09. The fourth Dragon to come across the line was Taya Elias who had a personal best time by nearly 2 minutes as she completed the run in 25:41. Finally, Alysha Wieneke ran the 5,000 meters in 28:16. The girls placed 5th overall as a team. The last race for the Dragons was the boy’s varsity run. Dylan Graff had a top 25 performance as he also ran a personal best time of 19:37, which was a best time for him by nearly a minute. Finally, Ky Ruppert stepped up and ran his way to a personal record too, running the course in 25:42, which was almost a minute faster than his old personal best.  Overall, it was a great day for the Dragons. The Dragons will race in Luverne on October 3rd and will host the Adrian Invite on October 8th at the Adrian Country Club.  Come out and cheer our Dragons on!
