Panthers get first win on the road

The Panthers traveled north on September 17th to Adrian.  The undefeated Dragons dominated the match winning 3-0 with scores of 25-7, 25-17 and 25-16.  Leaders for the Panthers were Ashlyn Meester with 5 kills and 11 of 11 serving.  Kallie Chapa 4 digs and 10 for 11 serving with 2 aces.  Morgan Dressen rounded out the leaders with 10 set assists.

The Panthers ended September going one and one in the week.  They started the week off with a road trip to Slayton to take on the MCC Rebels.  The Panthers kept the first two sets close falling 22-25 and 24-26.  A slow start in the third set dug a hole they just couldn’t work out of falling 13-25.

Morgan Dreesen led the Panthers offensively with 13 set assists and Ashlyn Meester had 8 kills.  Defensively Mady Bixby had 9 digs and Ashlyn Meester put up 2 blocks.  Morgan Dreesen had another perfect night from the line going 15-15 and Ashlyn Meester was 7-8 from the service line.

The Panthers travelled to Edgerton Thursday where they swept the Dutchmen 25-22, 25-21 and 25-18.

The Panthers continued to serve strong, something they have focused on all year.  Three Panthers were perfect from the service line, Kallie Chapa 15-15, Morgan Dreesen 12-12 and Claire Popkes 14-14.

Offensively Morgan Dreesen had 20 set assists leading to Kallie Chapa’s team high 6 kills.  Defensively Kallie Chapa led with 10 digs.

The Panthers kicked off this week hosting Hills-Beaver Creek Tuesday and will play host again on Thursday to Westbrook-Walnut Grove on Thursday.
