The Ellsworth Panthers competed at the Section 3A Sub-Section meet held in Luverne on May 24th. The top four place finishers in each event at this meet move on to the Section 3A meet in Montevideo on May 31st.
Kade Boltjes earned the right to compete at the Section Meet in the 100m race, with a time of 11.70, which was good enough for 3rd place. A time of 23.07 in the 200m race earned him a 2nd place finish and finally a distance of 19-07.75 in the long jump gave him 2nd place. Robby Armstrong used a personal record time of 2:11.53 in the 800m to earn 4th place and the right to move on. Sean Boltjes jumped to second in the 110m and 300m hurdles to earn spots in both races at the Section Meet. Carter Boy
enga used a season record distance throw of 118-07 to earn third place in the discus. Brandon Kramer is moving on in the shot put and the discus with a 3rd and 2nd place finish respectively. The boys 4×100 relay team of Sean Boltjes, Noah Kruse, Cole Boltjes and Kade Boltjes sprinted across the finish in 1st place punching their ticket to the Section Meet.
Panthers ending their season at the Sub-Section meet were: Cole Boltjes with 6th in the 100m; Austen Klein 20th in 100m; Noah Kruse 6th in the 200 and 5th in the long jump; Rondae Nave 22nd in the 200m; Robby Armstrong 7th in the 400m; Elijah Kruse 7th in the 400m; Simon Boyenga 18th in the 400m; Sam Kramer 15th in the 800 m and 10th in the 1600m; Micah Onken 18th in the 800m and 14th in the 1600m; Christian Hoiland 10th in the shot put and 7th in the discus; Carter Boyenga 18th in the shot put; Mady Domeyer 16th in the 100m and 13th in the 300m hurdles; Ashlyn Meester 6th in the 100m hurdles and 9th in the 300m hurdles; and Sarah Essman placed 17th in the shot put and 15th in the discus. The 4×200 relay team of Elijah Kruse Bimon Boyenga, Austen Klein and Rondae Nave placed 8th, while the 4×400 team of Robby Armstrong, Sam Kramer, Cole Boltjes and Noah Kruse place 5th.
