Notice of Application Livestock Feed Permit
Notice is hereby given per Minnesota Statues, Chapter 116, that Son D Farms Inc., has made an application to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency or the County of Nobles for a permit to construct or expand a feedlot with a capacity of 500 animal units or more.
The Existing and/or proposed feedlot will be located in the SE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Section 27, Olney Township, Nobles County, Minnesota. The facility has proposed to expand by constructing a new total confinement barn with below barn poured concrete pit and modifying the permitted capacity of one existing total confinement barn. Following the proposed changes, the facility will consist of 3,544 head of swine over 300lbs (1417.6 animal units), 525 head of swine between 55 and 300lbs (157.5 animal units) and 700 head of swine under 55lbs (35 animal units) for a total of 1610.1 animal units. Types of animal holding areas are total confinement barns. Types of manure storage areas are below barn poured concrete pits and existing earthen basin.
This publication shall constitute as notice to each resident and each owner of real property within 5,000 feet of the perimeter of the proposed feedlot as required by Minnesota Sate Law.
