Nobles County Fair Begins August 10th

The Nobles County Fair is just around the corner. The fair will be held from Wednesday, August 10th thru Sunday, August 14. On Monday, August 8th there will be a 4-H Dog Show in the Hockey Arena. On Tuesday, it is the Entry Exhibit Day and 4-H and all open class exhibits will be open. A tractor pull will be held Wednesday in the Grandstand at 7:00 pm.

On Thursday everyone is invited to attend family fun day from 5:00-8:30 pm. They will be giving away over 45 bikes and door prizes for all ages. There will also be over 30 vendor booths with various children and family activities. A kiddie parade will also be held with prizes for the top three in each of three different age categories. This starts at 7:00 pm, so please register by 6:30 pm. Local Entertainment will be on stage from 5:00 – 6:00 pm. Also on Thursday will be the baby races sponsored by Main Street Kids at 6:30 pm.

The Amazing Race starts at 7:30 pm with teams of four, of any age, welcomed. First place is $300, second place is $200, third place is $100 they will be ONLY TAKING 15 teams, Pre-register on Facebook or by calling Kim at 507-329-1910

Tractor rides, cow bingo, and family movie night will be available on Thursday evening and everything is free. From 5:00 – 8:00 pm, Car Seat Safety Checks will be available from the Nobles County Sheriff’s Department.

At 7:30 pm the eighth Annual MK5K Run and Family Fun Walk will begin. The MK5K benefits the Mary Kay Foundation and Southwest Crisis Center – Worthington. Proceeds will support safe housing and shelter for survivors of domestic abuse/sexual assault in Nobles County, as well as Youth Outreach programming. Register online at www.mnswcc.org. On Friday, August 12 there will be a bean bag tournament and the Ecology Bus will be there between 2:00 and 8:00 pm. Friday night will be the Tuff & Nuff Miniature Rodeo at 7:00 pm.

Saturday, August 13  is Kid’s Day at the fair, and two bikes will be given away on the Midway. The Nobles County Sheriff’s Department will again be doing car seat safety checks from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. At 2:00 the horseshoe tournament will begin along with the Zoo Express.

Also at 2:00 will be the Tri-State Beef Show. At 7:00 on Friday night will be the Endurance Race in the Grandstand.

Sunday, August 14th signals the end of the Nobles County Fair. A 10:00 am inspirational service will be held at Olson Arena. At 1:30 pm will be the Kid’s Pedal Pull, trophies sponsored by the Worthington Optimists Club, Jaycox Implement, and C&B Implement. The season championship night at the races will be in the grandstand.

Advance ride tickets for the Nobles County Fair are on sale now thru August 14th and can be purchased at W2’s Quality Meats, HyVee, Fareway, Worthington Chamber, Radio Works, and Bob & Steve’s in Worthington.
