Milton Hebig

Milton Hebig, the son of John “Jack” and Margaret (Voss) Hebig, was born on September 27, 1930 near St. Kilian, MN. He grew up on a farm near St. Kilian and at the age of 5 they moved to a farm one mile north of Lismore, MN where he lived the rest of his life. Milton attended St. Anthony’s School in Lismore graduating in 1948. Milton was united in marriage to Marilyn Ann Sieve on September 25, 1956 at St. Kilian’s Catholic Church in St. Kilian. After their marriage they lived on the family farm. He remained on the farm after Marilyn passed away in December of 2001. Milton passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage in Luverne, MN at the age of 86. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Lismore. He also belonged to the Knights of Columbus and the Lismore American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farm sales, pets, playing basketball in his younger years. He also enjoyed reading, fixing things, sarcasm and having the ability to converse with everyone.
Survivors include his children, Kevin Hebig of Lismore, MN, Marjie (Douglas) Anderson of Litchfield, MN, John Hebig of Lismore, MN, Ginny (Mark) Verbrugge of St. Michael, MN, Laurie (Tim) Hermeling of Iona, MN and Lisa (Paul) Kalis of Sartell, MN; son-in-law, Pat Thier of Adrian, MN; 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Winifred Balkenol of Redwood Falls, MN and Darlene Pryor of St. Peter, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marilyn, daughter, Patty, grandson, Thomas Verbrugge, great-grandchildren, Paisley Mclendon, Emmit Butenhoff and Keeston Thier and brothers, Orville and Rodney Hebig.
Funeral services were held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Lismore, MN at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 23, 2017 with Msgr. Rick Colletti celebrating. The pallbearers were his grandchildren, Ryan Anderson, Jordan Anderson, Nikki Mclendon, Krissi Butenhoff, Courtney Swayze, Tony Thier, Hailie Kalis, David Kalis, Leah Verbrugge, Ian Verbrugge, Jessica Hermeling, Brittney Hermeling, Danielle Hermeling, Kasey Hermeling and Christine Hermeling. Interment at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery Lismore, MN. Military Honors provided by the Lismore American Legion Post 636.
