Mary Kay (Bullerman) LaRocca was born in Adrian, MN, on March 6, 1940, to Bernard and Esther (Fritz) Bullerman. She married Michael Gerald LaRocca on August 2, 1975, in Lake Tahoe, NV. Mary Kay grew up on the family farm north of Adrian. She attended St. Adrian Parochial School from first grade through twelfth grade, graduating in 1958. She attended St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Rochester, MN, graduating as a Registered Nurse on September 6, 1962. After graduation, Mary Kay worked at the University of Minnesota Medical Hospital in Minneapolis. After two years, Mary Kay moved to San Jose, CA. She spent the remainder of her career at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (VMC) County Hospital in San Jose; where she served as the Assistant Head Nurse on a surgical specialty ward. She retired in 1983.
Mary Kay passed away on April 29, 2019, in San Jose, CA. She was cremated and private family arrangements have been made.
Mary Kay loved gardening, reading and collecting antiques. Prior to her passing, Mary Kay was one of the six members of the Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Luncheon group, which, for more than ten years, met monthly for lunch.
Mary Kay is survived by her husband Michael LaRocca, San Jose, CA; step-daughter Valerie LaRocca, Las Vegas, NV, and Uncle Eugene “Gene” Pellegrini, Burlingame, CA. She is also survived by her siblings: Shirley Vaselaar, Adrian, MN; Richard (Mary Lou) Bullerman, Chaska, MN; Rosanne Haycraft, Hixson, TN; and Steve Bullerman, Burnsville, MN; In-Laws: Karen Bullerman, Worthington, MN, and Linda Mae (LaRocca) Intravia, Columbus, OH; Nephews and Nieces: Doug Vaselaar, Eric (Meredith) Vaselaar, Ken Vaselaar, Tom Bullerman, Lisa Bullerman, David (Elizabeth) Bullerman, Michael Bullerman, Jeff Bullerman, Jane (Tim) Poppema, Eric (Tanya) Bullerman, Connie (Ed) Holub, Patrick Bullerman, Christopher Bullerman, Michele (Chris) Nelson, Denise (Bill) Walthers, Renee (Mike) Hagen, Marc (Toby) LaRocca; and many Great-Nephews and Great-Nieces.
Mary Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Esther (Fritz) Bullerman; her Parents-In-Law, Tito & Geraldine (Pellegrini) LaRocca; Siblings: Joan Bullerman,Charles Bullerman and Allen Bullerman; In-Laws: Mary Jane (Scheidt) Bullerman,Arthur Haycraft, Beverly (Gorter) Bullerman, and Samuel LaRocca; nephews Wayne Haycraft and Todd Haycraft; and niece-in-law Jamie (Voss) Bullerman.
