Mark David Van Westen, age 76, of Ellsworth, MN, formerly Adrian, MN passed away on August 15, 2020 in Sioux Falls, SD. Private services were held. The son of Martin and Regina (Hinchberger) Van Westen, Mark was born on May 26, 1944 in Jackson, MN. He attended school in Jackson. Mark married Judy Jungjohan on July 15, 1967. They lived on a farm north of Jackson, next to Independent Lake, where he farmed with his dad and brother. Mark also worked at AgChem in Jackson. Mark and Judy moved to Adrian in 1977. Mark worked for Campbell Soup Company in Worthington, MN for 18 years. Due to his health, he entered in the Adrian Nursing Home and later to Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth. Mark enjoyed the outdoors and went camping, hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and having coffee with his friends.
Mark is survived by his wife, Judy; three sons, Keith (Shari Coy) Van Westen of Tea, SD, Scott (Jenne) Van Westen of Brandon, SD, and Corey (Tabitha) Van Westen of Hawarden, IA; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild due in October; his mother-in-law, Darlene Jungjohan of Fulda, MN; five sisters-in-law, Betty Van Westen of Lakefield, MN; Karen (Lee) Meyer of Fulda, MN: Dianne Gilmore of Jackson, MN; Carolyn Jungjohan of Lake Park, IA and Jody (Jeff) Vander Bush of Boyden, IA.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Lee; brother, Doug Van Westen; sister and brother-in-law, Rene and Joe Pavelko; sister, Joan Dauffenbach and father-in-law, William Jungjohan.
