Yet another beautiful day met the Adrian Dragon cross country runners as they reached Independence Park in Marshall. The course was laid out well with some neat challenges on a Monday, September 12 afternoon.
First up were the junior high ladies. Ashlee Christians, Abbey Leopold and Hiltyn Heitkamp lined up for the mile and a quarter race. The straight away finish was lined with spectators as they watched 61 racers.
Hiltyn again ran well placing 13th against stiff competition. Her 8:59 time again proved to be her best this year. Ashlee also bested her time with a 9:42 34th placing. Abbey remained steady at 10:54 and a 53rd place. Hiltyn and Ashlee passed several runners down the straight away finish and Abbey held off a late charge.
