A memorial service for Loren G Hassebroek, age 64, of Balaton, formerly of Adrian, will be held at the Dingmann Funeral Home on Thursday, September 14, at 7p.m. in Adrian, officiated by Pastor Clyde Teel. A time of fellowship will be held prior from 4-7 p.m. Loren died Sunday, September 3, 2017 at the Colonial Manor Care Center in Balaton.
Loren was born June 21, 1952 in Adrian, to John and Marie (Stratmeier) Hassebroek. He attended Adrian Public School, and graduated in 1970.
Loren was a farmer at heart. He loved working on tractors and other small engines, but he really liked to play jokes and pull shenanigans on people. Loren liked to bake and cook. He made homemade ice cream for the Sunday school picnics. He enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins. Loren played softball, when he was younger, for the American Reformed Church softball team. He was a proud supporter of any activity that his two girls were in, especially attending cross-country meets and basketball games. He also enjoyed going to family gatherings whenever possible.
Loren is survived by his two daughters, Megan Milstead, Marshall; and Briana (Chris) Behrens, Harrisburg, SD; four grandchildren, McKenzie & Paige Milstead, Marshall; and Colston & Amirah Behrens, Harrisburg, SD; two brothers, Roger (Diane) Hassebroek, Redwood Falls; and Marvin (Gina) Hassebroek, Adrian; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marie Hassebroek.
A private committal of cremains will be at a later date.
