Lismore News – September 14

It was a perfect fall day on Sunday for the St. Anthony bazaar and auction.  The roast beef dinner was delicious (as usual) and the candied carrots could be eaten as a dessert.  There was something for everyone on the auction block—meat bundles, vegetables, wall decorations, homemade horseradish and frozen corn, bean bag boards, blankets, certificates for services and oodles of other donated items. Deb Timmer of Luverne (mother of Christina [Matt] Loosbrock) was the lucky winner of the quilt donated by the CCW.  The auctioneers moved along quickly so no one should have gone home hungry or empty handed!!  The annual beanbag tourney was the highlight of the afternoon for 2016.   The team of Jeff & Jill Diekmann came out the winners and collected the prize money but Father Beerman and Tom Diekmann made a good showing in 2nd place.

Be sure to visit our neighbors in Adrian for the St. Adrian Fall festival on September 18th.  They are proud to say they serve REAL mashed potatoes with their dinner. You may also visit the Candy Shoppe, buy Big Ticket chances, or try the cake walk.  It’s a great way to spend time with your family and support our parish cluster activities.
