Katie Wieneke, daughter of Steve & Laurie, recently donated nine inches of her hair to the Locks of Love organization. Locks of Love rely on hair donations to make wigs for cancer patients.  Lori Stoffel, owner of the Blue Mound Hair Salon in Luverne, did the honors. This is the second donation that Katie, a student at USF in Sioux Falls, has made. What a generous gal!

Dale Diekmann of Ft. Myers, FL and his son, Scott, spent time in Lismore with his brothers, Tom and Jeff and their families and his mother, Doris Diekmann.  Dale enjoys helping out each year during the fall harvest.  Like the saying goes “You can take the boy out of the country but you can’t take the country out of the boy!”

Mari Einck, daughter of Mike & Melissa, celebrated her 2nd birthday at her home in rural St. Kilian with a “Frozen” birthday theme.  Guests included her grandparents, Jim & Kris Weidert of Lismore and Ron & Janelle Einck of Iona; Aunts Olivia Weidert-SMSU Marshall; Lacy Weidert, Bemidji; and Nina Weidert of Lismore and her friend, Stuart.  Several other friends and family also joined the celebration.

The American Legion Auxiliary will hold their monthly meeting on the 4th Wednesday, October 19th at 7:00 p.m.   Aryls Hoffman will provide the lunch and Karon Nagel will bring the BINGO prizes.

Bruce & Ruth Lutmer of Brooklyn Park were home for the opening weekend of pheasant season.  Other hunters for the weekend were Rick & Adam Lutmer of Omaha, NE; Tim & Megan Johnson, Metro area; Dave & Cody Lutmer and Tom Krogman. When not hunting, the brothers and nephews helped with a cement “project” at the home of their sister/aunt, Mike & Patty Buysse.

Family members visiting with Florian Loosbrock at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls were: Pat & Terri Loosbrock of Texarkana, TX; Neil Loosbrock, Pensecola, FL; Earl & Nancy Wolf, St. Paul; Randy & Kay Wolf, Worthington; Anthony & Mary Jean DiGiovanni & Gianna of Omaha, NE; and Bruce & Brenda Loosbrock and Mary Ann Loosbrock, all of Lismore. Get well wishes to Flory.

The First Presbyterian Church will hold their annual soup & dessert dinner on Sunday, November 13th at the Lismore Legion Hall. The country store will open at 10:30 and serving begins at 11:00 a.m.  Throughout the day a silent auction will be taking place with closing bids at 1:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend this free will offering event.
