A benefit will be held for Mike & Melissa Einck on Sunday, January 22 from 9-2:00 at the St. Columba Hall in Iona. The benefit will help with medical expenses for their unborn baby who has a heart defect called HLHS (Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome). The left side of the heart is under developed and cannot pump enough blood to meet the body’s needs. Treatment generally consists of three heart operations during the first two years of life with the first surgery during the first week after being born. The birth will take place at Motts’ Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI in February. They will travel to Michigan three weeks prior to the baby’s birth. The Einck’s live in rural Wilmont, but were formerly from Lismore. Melissa is the daughter of Jim & Kris Weidert of Lismore and Mike is the son of Ron & Janelle Einck of Iona. VanBully’s will provide the breakfast and lunch with a free will donation. Please support the Einck’s.
