Marvin and Ruth Lorang returned Wednesday, August 3rd from their family’s summer gathering. The LAG (Lorang Annual Getaway) began in August 2003 to celebrate their 40th Wedding Anniversary. It has become the Lorang’s annual summer get-together and this year marks 13 years! The location they have been going to since 2008, is a lake home (known as Emerald Hideaway) located on Lake Elizabeth, near Atwater and Willmar, MN. The grandkids have learned to waterski, kneeboard, wakeboard and tube behind the boat while at the lake together. In attendance from the Lorangs were Marvin and Ruth Lorang, Lismore, MN; Tom, Molly, Kaitlyn and Keegan Lorang, Morton, MN; Kevin, Yigliola and baby JP Lorang, Minneapolis, MN; Todd, Susan, Noah, Isaac and Grace Roerig, Sioux City, IA; Shawn, Lynn, Caleb and Asha Dearey, Durango, CO; and Ivan, Jean, Owen, Lucy, Phoebe and Hazel Vargas, Dell Rapids, SD.  Great fun was had by all.

Deb Lutmer attended the memorial service for Bea Lewandowski on Tuesday at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Browns Valley.

The Lismore Fire & Rescue will have their annual fundraiser of all-you-can-eat BBQ Pork or Turkey supper beginning at 5:00 on Saturday, August 20th. Firemen are selling tickets, which also will entitle you for chance to win an assortment of prizes.

Last week Joyce Erdman accompanied her daughter, Nancy Decker of Yale, SD, to Sioux Falls where she had hand surgery.  Nancy spent a few days recuperating at her mom’s home in Lismore.

Marcel & TSgt Cherish Barthel and their family, Helen & Jonas briefly visited with Deb Lutmer on Wednesday.  They were enroute from North Carolina to Winnipeg, Canada with a stop at her parent’s home in Minot, ND. Cherish will be stationed in Canada with the US Air Force for the next four years.

Rick Lutmer of Omaha, NE was a weekend “working” guest in Lismore. He spent time helping his sister, Patty & Mike Buysse with a remodel project.  That’s what big brothers are for!

It’s less than a month away for the St. Anthony Church Bazaar and Auction on September 11th.  An excellent meal, fun games, unique auction items, and good company are a sure deal!

Members of the First Presbyterian Church will have their Sunday service in the Lismore Park at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 21st.  A potluck dinner will follow.
