Bill & Gloria Carlberg have returned from a “work” trip that involved Madison and Milwaukee, WI. On the “fun” side of the trip, they ventured to Lake Geneva for a couple days. It was a beautiful lake with a walking path and they enjoyed walking by the huge multi-million dollar homes.
It was a breezy and drizzly fall day for the St. Anthony bazaar and auction on Sunday. The turkey & dressing was delicious and the candied carrots were so good you could have eaten them as a dessert—although there were plenty of other tasty desserts, too! There was something for everyone on the auction block—meat bundles, vegetables, wall decorations, jars of pickled asparagus and beets, homemade horseradish, frozen corn, John Deere toys, tie blankets and quilts, certificates for services, various themed baskets and oodles of other donated items. One of the items that always brings a “big” donation was Fr. Colletti’s “Dinner at the Rectory for Eight”. Cindy Penning of Wilmont was the lucky winner of the quilt, which was made and donated by Pam Kramer. The auctioneers moved along quickly so no one should have gone home hungry or empty handed!! It was a great way to spend the afternoon.
Be sure to visit our neighbors in Adrian for the St. Adrian Fall Festival on September 15h. They are proud to say they serve REAL mashed potatoes with their dinner. You may also visit the Candy Shoppe or Flea Market, buy Big Ticket chances, or try the cake walk. It’s a great way to spend time with your family and support our parish cluster activities.
