Sarah Darling of Brandon, SD has been selected as the 2017 Brandon Valley Teacher of the Year.  Sarah teaches first grade in Brandon, SD where she also lives with her husband, Lucas and children, Kamryn & Carter.  She is the daughter of Alan and Ellen Henning of Lismore.  Congratulations, Sarah!

May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month.  All motorists are reminded to safely “share the road” with motorcycles and to be extra alert to keep motorcyclists safe.   Motorcyclists are reminded to make themselves visible to other drivers.

Congratulations to Caitlyn Veld, the ONLY 2nd grader to celebrate 1st Holy Communion on Saturday evening Mass at St. Anthony. Caitlin is the daughter of Troy & Cindy Veld.

Joyce Erdman and her late husband, Earl, have their 24th great-grandchild! A little girl,  Roree Kathryn, was born to Randy and Marissa Erdman on Monday, April 24th.  She is welcomed home by her big brother, Rolland.   Proud and happy grandparents are Rod & Ruth Erdman and Gerry & Kathryn Wolfgram.

Congratulations to the seniors from St. Anthony’s parish as they were honored at the baccalaureate Mass on Saturday. They are: Britney & Briana Loonan (Bill & Raevette), Seth Schettler (Mark), Mikayla Jeffers (Darren & Julie) and Lexus Freimuth (John & Brenda).  Mikayla Jeffers was awarded the Wendell Loosbrock Memorial Scholarship. The juniors and their parents served supper to the graduates and their families following Mass.

The American Legion, Sons of American Legion, and the American Legion Auxiliary will hold a Memorial Day Program on Monday, May 29 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lismore Legion Hall followed by military services at the three cemeteries (St. Anthony, Lismore, and St. Anthony West).  Everyone is invited to a community potluck meal at the Legion Hall.

Ray & Shirley Wieneke returned home after a little fishing getaway to the Missouri River.  They left town in the sloppy snow and drove back home in 84-degree temps.  What a difference a week makes! They caught their limits and had beautiful weather…what more could you ask for in Minnesota?

The St. Anthony Knights of Columbus announced the winners of the Don Lacore Scholarships.  They were: Nick Lenz (Mark & Shari), Olivia Weidert (Jim & Kris) and McKenzie Wieneke (Andrew & Michele).  Congratulations and good luck with your continued education.

David & Amelia Brake of St. Kilian welcomed a new daughter, Everly June, who was born on Sunday, April 23rd. Hazel and Emerson are thrilled to have a new baby sister join the family!  Congratulations also to the grandparents, Doug & Marie Brake of Worthington and Kurt & Jodi Mulder of Rushmore.  Great grandparents are Don & Doris Brake of Wilmont.

Tom & Mary Krogman attended the First Holy Communion of their grandson, Ty Schlagel at Pax Christi Catholic church in Eden Prairie, MN on Sunday, April 30th. Ty is the son of Dustin and Colleen (Krogman) Schlagel. Other guests included his siblings, Tori & Tavin and grandparents, Gene & Pat Schlagel of Aberdeen, SD.

Samantha (Lynn) Voss earned her Masters Degree in Math Education from SMSU in Marshall this past weekend.  Sam lives in Adrian with her husband, Adam, and teaches in Fulda, Minnesota. She is the daughter of Jeff & Denise Lynn.  Congratulations, Sam!!

Jerry & Mary Kellen were spectators at the Middle School Conference Quad track invitational at Glencoe on Friday.  Their granddaughter, Amber Kellen was a participant.  Amber is the daughter of John & Ann of Waconia.
