Birthday wishes go out to former Lismore resident, Alma Krogman on April 15th as she celebrates her 100th birthday. An Open House honoring Alma will be held at St. Anthony Health Center, 3700 Foss Road, St. Anthony, MN, from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday. Cards may be sent to 3219 Old Highway 8, Minneapolis, MN  55418.

The Lismore Booster Club will meet on Wednesday, April 12th to make preparations for the Easter Egg Hunt and to discuss Lismore Old Home Day Activities.

The Easter Bunny is coming to Lismore on Saturday, April 15th at the Lismore Park and Lismore Fire Hall. Weather permitting there will be an Easter Egg Hunt in the city park at 10:00 am.  At 10:30, the Easter Bunny will make his way to the Fire Hall where he will hand out some candy and you can have your picture taken with him. This is just one of the many events the Lismore Booster Club sponsors throughout the year.

Gerald & Sheryl Kottmann (formerly of Lismore) were in the area last weekend visiting friends and family as well as attending the surprise retirement party for their friend, Ed Hoffman, in Sioux City, IA.  The Kottmann’s returned to their home in Hubbardston, MA on Tuesday.

Dave & Deb Lutmer met her sister, Carol Giroux of Wheaton, and their friend Karen Wenz of Hector for breakfast and visiting at Perkins in Willmar on Sunday.

Lacy Weidert was the guest of honor at a bridal shower on Saturday. Everyone enjoyed egg bake, fruit, and various sweet breads.  The tables were decorated with fun centerpieces featuring little tubs of succulent plants and old glass milk bottles filled with soybeans and flowers. The bride to be received many lovely gifts.  Lacy is the bride-to-be of Jeff Osborn and the daughter of Jim & Kris Weidert.  Special guests coming from Sac City, IA were Jeff’s mom, Ann, and his grandmother, Gladys.  Lacy & Jeff will be married in Mankato on June 3rd.

Fifteen new members from the area were received into the Catholic Daughters of the Americas at a Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel on Tuesday, April 4th.  Fr. Rick Colletti was installed as the Chaplain for the three area courts by District Deputy Mary Metz.  Ct. Madonna #839 of Wilmont hosted a sit down dinner reception, which was attended by Ct. St. Bernard #886 of Lismore and Ct. Santa Maria #247 of Adrian. After the delicious appetizers, the Wilmont KC’s served the attendees smoked brisket, baked potatoes, green bean casserole, buns, coleslaw, and dessert.   The Minnesota state officers were in attendance and offered words of encouragement to new members and congratulated the fifty-year members from all three courts. It was a wonderful evening of faith, fun, and fellowship!

A bridal shower honoring Nichole Loosbrock, daughter of Bruce & Brenda, will be held on Saturday, April 22nd at the Lismore Legion Hall.  Nichole is the bride-to-be of Austin Quebedeaux of Helena, Montana.

Margee Keller of Crookston and Mary Pufall of Moorhead were Tuesday overnight guests in the home of Dave & Deb Lutmer.  The gals are Minnesota State officers for the Catholic Daughters and were in the area for their board meeting and to attend the new member reception hosted by Ct. Madonna in Wilmont. They returned to their homes Wednesday.

The Lismore Cooperative Telephone Company will hold its annual stockholders meeting on Wednesday, April 19th at the American Legion Hall. Three directors will be elected and the financial report for 2016 will be reviewed.  Lunch and door prizes follow the business meeting.
