Lismore News 3-1-17

Lismore veterans were highlighted in last week’s Nobles County Review. The Krogman families were well represented in the Army, Navy, Air Force, and National Guard. We thank them and all veterans for their service.

Mary Alice Lutmer (formerly of Lismore) is recuperating at her home in Luverne following hip surgery.  Her daughter, Joan of Basehor, KS is spending the week with her.

Attending the visitation and/or funeral services for Oliver Garlick at the United Methodist Church in Fairmont were:  Patty & Mike Buysse, Dylan Johnson, Debby & Frank Wieneke, and Jeff Lutmer all of Lismore; Bruce & Ruth Lutmer of Brooklyn Park; and Lori Delano & Doug Woolridge of Annandale.  Mr. Garlick is the father of Roxy Scholl (who is the wife of Gary Lutmer) of St. James.

Little Molly Einck is now two weeks old and recovering from her heart surgery at Mott’s Children’s Hospital  in Ann Arbor, MI.  She has been a trooper!!  Although there have been ups and downs, she is improving. The doctors and nurses are “Johnny on the spot” for whatever Molly needs.   Mommy Melissa and Daddy Mike are grateful for all the prayers said for their daughter. Prayers are powerful! Ct. St. Bernard Catholic Daughters issued a “food fight” challenge to the St. Anthony Knights of Columbus.  The friendly competition between the men and women is to see which can collect the most items for the local food shelf.     The organization with the fewest items will cook and serve a parish meal after the April 1st Saturday evening Mass.  The “food fight” will be from Feb. 11th-March 11th.  Everyone is encouraged to join the spirited competition! Choose which organization you’d like to support and place your non-perishable food items, personal care items or household items in the respective box.  Remember EVERYONE wins—all items collected will benefit the local food shelves.  An evening of fun, food, and fellowship will conclude the competition.

After serving four years in the US Marines, Dylan Johnson  (son of Patty & Mike Buysse) attended the Northwest Railroad Institute  in Vancouver, WA.  He graduated on February 8th and has since made his way cross country.  Dylan  stopped in Rapid City for a visit at the home of David & Danielle Cook and  then in Elk Point, SD to see his high school buddy, Trevan Edgar.  Dylan will soon begin his new employment at Midwest Railcar Repair near Brandon, SD.

Megan Sauer, daughter of Barry & Kerry Sauer, recently presented her undergraduate research paper at the Minnesota State Capitol.  Megan is attending Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato. The content of her paper was based on the reign of Ivan the Terrible.

St. Anthony CCW will host a Spring Social on March 11th following the 5:00 PM Mass.  On the menu will be roast beef commercials, a vegetable, bars and beverage.  Bingo will be played after the meal.  Everyone is invited.
