Lismore News 2-20-19

Congratulations to Conner Van Dyke who is a member of the newest Sioux Falls Fire Rescue cadet class!  Connor “made the cut” out of 300 other candidates and was selected to be one of the final nine for the class.  He is the son of Terry and Carrie (Kern) Van Dyke and the grandson of Marvin and the late Fran Kern of Lismore.  Thank you, Connor, for your dedication to serve the public in such an important profession.

Our community extends sympathy to the Mark and Lynette Knips family on the loss of her brother, Harlan Knobloch, of Alvord, IA.  Harlan passed away at the age of 52 at the Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne. Blessed be his memory.

The first annual Lismore vendor event will take place on Saturday, February 23rd, at the Lismore Legion Hall from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.  Lunch will be served by the 4-H Interstate Exchange Group.  Round Lake Vineyard’s will have wine tastings and over fourteen different vendors will be on hand with their products.

Due to the winter weather, the Lismore Bloodmobile has been rescheduled for Monday, February 25th, from 1:00-6:00.  Be sure to note the earlier time period.

The tradition continues….The Lutmer brothers, sons, brothers-in-law, sons-in-law and a few friends returned last Tuesday from their annual fishing trip near Starbuck.  Fishermen included:  Jeff Lutmer, Dave Lutmer, Cody Lutmer, Mike Buysse, and Tom Krogman, all of Lismore; Will Lutmer and Andy Heitkamp both of Sioux Falls, SD; Tyler Wagner, Marshall; Gary Lutmer, St. James; Bruce Lutmer, Brooklyn Park; Tim Johnson, Big Rapids, MI; Randy Lutmer, Louisville, KY; Zach Lutmer, Dublin, OH; Rick Lutmer and Adam Lutmer, Omaha, NE; Dylan Johnson, Brandon, SD; and Tim Lutmer, Alexandria.  Don Sykora of Ortonville and Frank Wieneke of Lismore also spent some time with the guys throughout their stay.

Bruce and Brenda Loosbrock were surprised when their son, Wade, came to celebrate Valentine’s Day with them and a spend a long weekend with the family.  Wade recently relocated from Las Cruces, NM to Bismarck, ND.

Andy, Joe, and Jack Rahe, sons of Luke and Jen, participated in the Knights of Columbus district free throw competition held in Luverne on February 17th.  Andy (13 year old division) advanced to the regional competition to be held in Adrian on March 3rd. Congratulations Andy and good luck.
