Gleaned from Years Ago written by Audrey Brake for the Wilmont Shopper taken from the Nobles County Democrat in October-November 1900:  Though less than two months old, the Bank of Lismore is now transacting a business that might be envied by older banking houses in larger towns. Deposits already aggregate over $10,000, and are increasing at the rate of several hundred dollars daily. The bank carries a handsome line of loans and discounts and on the whole the business is flourishing beyond the most sanguine expectations of the promoters of the enterprise. Much credit is due Cashier A. J. Rice, who is not only qualified by a long and successful business career, but enjoys the acquaintance and confidence of every farmer in the vicinity of Lismore.
