Lismore News 10-30-19

If you happened to be watching KELOland Living this past week you may have seen a familiar face!  Alice (Reker) Singh and her colleague, Justin Stevenson work for the Sioux Falls Public Libraries and were invited to the program to share computer safety tips.  The Siouxland libraries offer technology classes that teach cyber security awareness and ways to keep your information safe while you are online.  Alice is the daughter of Barb and Gene Reker of rural Lismore/Adrian.

The Lismore CCW, along with the Diocese of Winona and Catholic Charities, is supporting the Baby Bottle Campaign.  Baby bottles are available in the back of all three churches within the parish cluster. Please fill a bottle with your spare change and return it at the end of this month. Donations from this campaign assist women who choose parenting or adoption rather than abortion.

The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Lismore on Tuesday, November 5th from 2-7 p.m. at the American Legion Hall. Please mark your calendars and go online to register for an appointment.  Of course, walk-in’s are always welcome! www.redcrossblood.org.

Mabrey Jo, daughter of Mike and Melissa Einck, was baptized at St. Anthony on Saturday evening following Mass  with Monsignor Richard Colletti presiding. Mabrey’s Godparents are Olivia Weidert and Stuart Rogers.  A reception was held at the Einck home with sister Mari, the grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins attending. On a side note, it was a beautiful moment at Mass when Fr. Colletti was accepting the children’s offerings and Mari placed her offering in the basket. She then proceeded to give Fr. Colletti a big hug. How precious to see that!

Everyone is invited to pray the rosary one last time in the month of October with Ct. St. Bernard #886 on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

Tony & Darla Parsley of Adrian are on their last week of collecting good, clean winter coats. Items may be dropped at 517 Maine Avenue

Joyce Erdman, Ruth Lorang, Mary Ann Loosbrock, Jeannette Lynn, and Bette LeBrun attended Hospice of Luverne’s annual Tour Of Tables at Grand Prairie Events Center in Luverne this past weekend. Twenty two tables were decorated according to a theme set by a host/hostess and inspired by a set of dishes, a favorite holiday, a sports theme or just about anything!  Howie’s Floral of Adrian decorated two tables and the ladies were very happy to be seated at his beautiful Christmas themed table.  Guests toured the tables and

were served a delicious brunch.  There were also raffles and a basket auction. Proceeds from this event help Hospice to purchase a non-budgeted item that has been identified as a need.

The annual Veterans Day program will be held on Monday, November 11th at the Adrian High School gymnasium beginning at 9:30 a.m.  The program will feature the color guards from Adrian and Lismore, musical selections, and readings. Please make plans to attend and honor and show respect to our Veterans who have fought for the many freedoms we enjoy today.

McKenna Leinen’s fiance, Blake Brockey, has returned from his ten-month deployment to Europe.  He is one of the 112 soldiers with the South Dakota Army National Guard’s Bravo Battery 1-147th Field Artillery Battalion and 147th Forward Support Company.  Blake is enjoying getting more acquainted with his three month old daughter, Harlow.  He was fortunate to have been able to be home for her birth but we all know how fast babies grow and change!  Welcome home, Blake, and thank you for your service!
