Joyce Erdman had a busy weekend starting with an afternoon and evening spent with her granddaughter, Jennifer Luettel in Mankato, MN along with Pam & Mark Luettel of Adrian. On Saturday the group traveled to the cities to celebrate the first birthday of Blake Luettel, daughter of Keith and Emily of Minnetonka. Other birthday guests included Bruce & Lindsay Meyeraan, Ian, Aiden and Ava of Luverne, MN; Grandpa and Grandma Mike & Diana Zimmerli of Wabasso, MN; Beth Zimmerli of St. Paul, MN; Daniel Zimmerli & Lara Graves of St. Peter, MN; Great-grandma Pat Coy of Waldorf, MN; and Alan Zimmerli of Wabasso, MN. Great-grandma Joyce reports that they all enjoyed an afternoon of good food and watching birthday girl Blake open her gifts and eat her cake. On Sunday, Joyce attended a baby shower honoring her granddaughter, Jessica Erdman, in Rushmore, MN. Fun games were played and a noon lunch was served. Jessica’s sisters, Meagan, Amber, and Laura and her mom, Pam, hosted the shower. She received lots of cute and useful gifts for her new baby, who will arrive this fall. Joyce’s family continues to grow!!
Ct. St. Bernard #886 will lead the Rosary on Wednesday nights during the month of October. Everyone is invited to come pray with them at 6:30 p.m. at St. Anthony’s.
Brenda Loosbrock enjoyed a “girls weekend” in Omaha, NE last weekend. Shopping, eating, and entertainment were on the agenda. Joining Brenda were her daughters, Nichole Quebedeaux of Des Moines, IA; Shelly Loosbrock of Benedictine College in Atchison, KS; and Mary Jean DiGiovanni of Lismore, MN. Brenda’s sister and niece, Veronica & Michele Masselink, of Sioux Falls, SD also took part in the fun weekend.
Gary Lutmer of St. James, MN and his son, Jared of San Diego, CA were visitors in the home of Debby & Frank Wieneke on Sunday.
The American Legion Auxiliary will hold their monthly meeting on the 3rd Wednesday, October 18th at 7:00 p.m. Mary Ann Loosbrock will provide the lunch and Jessica (Loosbrock) Fedt will bring the BINGO prizes.
The Catholic Daughters of Ct. Madonna #839, Ct. St. Bernard #886 and Ct. Santa Maria #247 and Habitat for Humanity have launched a partnership to support efforts to build homes for families in need. Each year, a house is built within the state of Minnesota with an estimated annual grant of $10,000. This year’s home will be built in Owatonna. The funding of this Catholic Daughter grant is made possible by the annual Gummi Bear fundraising project. Members of these courts will be handing out Gummi Bear candy after Mass on Saturday, October 14th and Sunday October 15th. Donations are appreciated.
