Janelle, Sidney, and Logan McAlear of Smithfield, VA enjoyed a road trip to MN for a two-week visit. Sidney and Logan spent time with grandparents, Gene and Mary Metz, while Janelle spent five days in Seattle/Canada with a girlfriend and her husband. Lt. Col. Christopher McAlear was in Washington, DC for his position in the Air Force. Lt. Col. McAlear, Air Combat Chief of Aerial Events, is in charge of all flyovers and air shows for Air Combat Command. He is the ground control for the flyovers for funerals at Arlington National Cemetery as well as events like the Super Bowl in Minneapolis, the Indianapolis 500, and the President’s ‘Salute to America’ event on the 4th of July. When Chris arrived in MN, all were interested in hearing about his meeting with the President to coordinate his speech with the timing of the flyovers from all five branches of the military. Lots of time was spent helping Janelle’s grandma, Margie Wieneke, celebrate her 90th birthday and visiting with other family members. Now the long drive home begins!
Rosanne Sloan of Rio Rancho, NM, along with two of her grandchildren, Gabriel and Kaitlyn, spent a couple of weeks in the home of her mother, Mary Ann Loosbrock. Carolyn (Wolf) Smith and children Regan and Dominic of Green Bay, WI were also weekend guests. They all came especially to attend the wedding of Wade & Laci Loosbrock on July 6th. Earlier in June, Neal and Debbie Loosbrock of Lynn Haven, FL were guests to spend some of their vacation with Mary Ann.
A huge crowd attended the Sunday night fundraiser to support Mike and Melissa Einck and daughter Molly Jo. Area residents filled the VFW hall in Wilmont, to eat supper and bid on various auction items. The Parish Cluster Pastoral Council sponsored the fundraiser for 2-year old Molly who is waiting for a heart transplant.
The next movie night sponsored by the Lismore Booster Club is scheduled for Friday, July 26th. Bring your own snacks, chair and/or blanket to enjoy a family friendly movie under the stars. Watch the Lismore Booster Club on Facebook the week of the movie to see the name of the movie of the week. Movies begin at dusk.

Mary Ann Loosbrock accompanied Randy & Kay Wolf of Worthington and Matt Wolf and family of the Chicago area to the Little House on the Prairie celebration in Walnut Grove on Saturday. Joanne Wolf also joined them. Various celebrities from the show were on hand for interviews, told what they are now doing, and all of them had words of praise for the star of the show, the late Michael Landon. The performance was based more on the book than on the t.v. show but was very enjoyable.
