Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Santa Maria #247 will serve their annual salad luncheon on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at St. Adrian Catholic Church in Adrian. Serving begins at 11am until 12:30pm.  Home delivery is available for Adrian residents—call 483-2317 from 9-11am on the day of the luncheon to order.  Men and women of all faiths are invited to attend!

Kaylen Weidert and Jerry Beck of Currie are the parents of a baby girl, Emmy Rose, born on June 19, 2019. Grandparents are Jerry Weidert Jr, of Lismore and Rhonda Weidert of Canby and Brad & Monica Anderson of Deer Lodge, MT. Great-grandparents are Jerome & Mary Weidert of rural Lismore, Erma Beck of Clear Lake, and Rose Doom of St. Leo.  Congratulations!

Deb Lutmer was a Tuesday overnight guest in the home of her friends, Karen & Bruce Wenz in Hector. Deb accompanied Karen and her mother, Annie Zupfer, to the University of Minnesota Health Center for medical tests on Wednesday.  They returned to their respective homes that evening.

Jack Baszler qualified for the next stage of the Drive, Chip, and Putt competition, which was held at Willow Run Golf Course in Sioux Falls, SD on July 3rd. He placed 3rd in the 9 & under age group, winning a tie-breaker to move onto the next stage of qualifying in Minneapolis on August 11th.  Jack is the son of Jared & Ashley (Henning) Baszler of Brookings, SD.  He is the grandson of Alan & Ellen Henning and great-grandson of Veryl and Avis Stoffel, all of Lismore. Good luck, Jack!!

Congratulations to Wade and Laci Loosbrock who were united in marriage on Saturday, July 6th at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Jefferson, SD.  Wade is the son of Bruce & Brenda Loosbrock and Laci is the daughter of Mike & Joyce Paul.  The couple will make their home near Bismarck, ND.

The Parish Cluster Pastoral Council is sponsoring a fundraiser for Molly Jo Einck, 2-year old daughter of Mike and Melissa Einck of rural Wilmont on Sunday, July 14th. Hamburgers and hotdogs will be served at the Wilmont VFW beginning at 6:00 pm.  A live auction is scheduled to begin at 7:45pm with several sports packages, services, and many more goodies.  Please join our community in supporting Molly and her family.

The Wieneke family gathered at the home Steve and Laurie Wieneke on Sunday to celebrate the engagement of Meagan Meier and her fiancé Justus Caudell and daughters Gracyn & Hartlyn of Washington.  Enjoying the afternoon with games and family fun were: Katie Wieneke, Elmer and Judy Wieneke, Apryl and Tom Meier, Seth Meier and his friend Megan Odegard, Paul & Joan Wieneke, Elisabeth Wech & Cecilia, Amy Christians, Rachel & Steven Pfarr, Pete, Tracy & Selena Wieneke, and Carmen, Orey and Ryann Fey.

Tim Loosbrock reports that the Loosbrock families reunion which had been scheduled for Saturday, August 3, 2019 has been CANCELLED. The city park will be undergoing a major renovation project with heavy equipment.  Tim feels the safety of families is of utmost importance and that is the reason for canceling the gathering.  The reunion will be rescheduled for August 2020 with details to follow.

The next movie night sponsored by the Lismore Booster Club is scheduled for Friday, July 26th.  Bring your own snacks, chair and/or blanket to enjoy a family friendly movie under the stars.  Watch the Lismore Booster Club on Facebook the week of the movie to see the name of the movie of the week.  Movies begin at dusk.

Olivia Kanten, daughter of Brian Kanten of Belle Plaine, has been spending part of her summer vacation with her grandparents, Dave & Joyce Kanten in Fulda and with her aunt, Patty & Mike Buysse of Lismore.

Margie Wieneke will be celebrating her 90th birthday on Tuesday, July 16th.  Birthday greetings may be sent to her home at 14451 200th Street, Adrian, MN  56110.  Happy Birthday Margie!

Joyce Erdman celebrated the 4th of July with her son, Mike Erdman at an AA supper picnic in Slayton. On Saturday Joyce was invited to the home of her granddaughter, Danielle and Elliot Apland and family on Lake Brandt by Chester SD.  Others invited for the noon dinner were Danielle’s mom, Gail Erdman and her brother, Jason Jonas and Jaxon and Nolan and Samantha Miller and Harper and Marshall. It was another great day spent with family.

Doris Diekman’s family surpised her with an 85th birthday party on July 5th at the Lismore park.  All of her children, along with their spouses and significant others were present,  All but four of her grandchildren were there and 12 of the 17 great-grandchildren attended. Other guests were relatives and close friends.  Doris received a special book with pictures of all the quilts she has made for her children, grandchildren, and great-granchildren.  At last count, she has made over 56 quilts for her family– treasured gifts made with love.
