Ruth Lorang, her son Kevin and wife Yigliola and their 2 yr. old son Johnny Lorang of Minneapolis, MN enjoyed a trip to Arizona in mid-February. Their first stop was the Grand Canyon south rim. None of the group had ever seen the natural wonder and all agreed it was worth the trip – a real “bucket list” experience! They visited Ruth’s nephew, Todd Lorang, in Mesa and also caught up with Ruth’s sister Irma (Hebig) Lorang (Bloomington, MN) there as well. The travelers rested, enjoyed the desert landscape, and visited friends. Yigliola was able to see a college friend, Anika Bronfman, of Scottsdale, AZ. The group also visited Harry and Barb Springman who are wintering in Mesa, where fresh baked lemon pie was part of a fun day. All marveled at a tree in the Springman’s front yard that grew both lemons and oranges! It was suggested that Nobles County farming would be greatly simplified if corn and soybeans could be grown on the same plant! Finally the group traveled to Tucson, Arizona where they had lunch with Lorang cousins– Rick and Linda Phillips of Green Valley, AZ and Bill and Kelly Redmond of Anchorage, Alaska. They flew home on February 18th with lots of fun memories to cherish!
