The Lismore American Legion Family donated 2 dozen balls to the Ashburn, VA and Carson, CA Legion baseball programs.  The program chose this Legion program because Mike Springman, a current member of the Lismore SAL squadron, and his family  live in Ashburn, He played Legion ball for Lismore from 1965 (as an 8th grader) through 1969.  His brother Joe Springman and his family live in Manassas, VA.  Joe played for Lismore from 1979-1981.

This is the 5th year that the Lismore American Legion has donated 10 dozen baseballs to various American Legion baseball teams and or host cities of the Minnesota Legion baseball tournament.  The teams selected are usually in communities where a member of Lismore’s SAL Squadron resides.  With over 100 SAL members, the Lismore Squadron has members in Maine Florida, Illinois, California, and Virginia as well as South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota.    Mike Springman delivered the Ashburn baseballs while his brother Bill delivered the Carson baseballs.
