On Monday, February 13, 2017, I met the nice gentlemen who are removing the asbestos floor tiles from the Adrian Branch Library building. Hopefully, by next week the Library building will be hazard-clear. For those of you old enough to remember the big push to remove asbestos from businesses and homes, the asbestos was not a problem as long as nothing was disturbed. What that means is, since the tiles were not moved or altered while we were open, things were fine. The county decided to have the tiles removed now, while the building is empty and bare. So, when the new floor/carpet is put in, it will be on top of a new clean surface.
Have you seen our new temporary space at the New Vision Coop Building located at the corner of Maine Avenue/Hwy 91 and 1st Street? If not, you should stop in! We are so grateful to the New Coop Vision elevator for allowing us to use this space. When you stop you will see that we usually have free treats as well as free pencils. We have 98% of our collection on display. The space is roomy, and we welcome walk-ins. We have four newspapers for perusal: Worthington Daily Globe, Star Tribune, Rock County Star Herald and, of course, our own Nobles County Review. Next week I will have a few photos in the paper of our temporary space. Along with books, we have movies, magazines, audio books, public use computers, board books, and, of course, the castle for our youngsters. The place looks awesome!
