It was always the plan to hold a final book sale after the renovation, and pair it with a silent auction. These things take time, but we are finally (just about) ready! Preparing for a sale took a lot of planning, and that started even while the renovation was beginning.
During the renovation, the Library operated at the New Vision Coop Building in Adrian. Even after the move back to the regular building in July, there were items left at New Vision: old books (both library and donated items), as well as surplus county office items. When time permitted, library staff, as well as Director Clint Wolthuizen, worked at organizing the items.
The sale will take place on Friday, December 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and Saturday, December 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be hundreds of books for sale. There will be many silent auction items, which include county surplus office items.
The Little Tikes Castle, a feature of the library for the last twenty-five years, will also be on the silent auction. Due to space limitations, and ADA rules, the castle will not fit in the newly renovated space.
People must make bids in person; call-ins and email bids will not be accepted.
The Library accepts cash, as well as checks (with proper ID).
People that need to pick up silent auction items can do so from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2. Items can also be picked up on Monday, December 4, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; and Wednesday, December 6, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Winners of the silent auctions will need to make their own arrangements for picking up, loading, and transporting items.
