The Lady Dragons opened their 2017 Volleyball Season hosting the Grizzlies of Hendricks. The Dragons handled the Grizzlies in convincing fashion taking the match in three games. The Dragons dominated offensively and defensively winning 25-12, 25-9 and 25-20.
Defensively the Lady Dragons were led by Lexi Slater with nine digs, Miah Kunkel six digs and Alexia Kemper with five. Offensively Kasie Tweet offered up twenty-three set assists. Miah Kunkel led in kills with thirteen, followed by Rylie Hokeness with three and Avery Balster added two. Strong serving by the Dragons made it difficult for the Grizzlies to get any offense started. Lexi Slater led the Dragons at the service line serving a perfect thirteen out of thirteen with three aces. Miah Kunkel served twenty-three out of twenty-for with one ace.
