Funeral services for Kham Manila will be 12 noon on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington, MN. A private burial will be at the Hills of Rest Cemetery, in Sioux Falls, SD, at a later date.

Kham Manila, age 61, passed away on July 5th, 2019 at the Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne, after a short illness. He was surrounded by his loved ones. He was born August 4th, 1957, in Banh Nong Pum, Muang Ta Kack, Quang Khammouan, in Laos.

Kham married Vieng Thongvanh in 1979 at the Thai Refugee Camp. He led his family from the Thai Refugee camp to the United States of America. They lived in numerous cities including Mason City, IA, Wells, MN and Sioux City, IA before moving to Worthington in 1986. They moved to Adrian in 1994. Khams strength and leadership paved the road to build a strong foundation in a new country different from his own.

He attended English language classes and earned a welding certificate from a Technical College. He was determined to learn and educate others that promoted self-sufficiency and resilience.

His passion in practicing Muay Thai was felt by all who trained under him. His wisdom impacted all who had the honor of meeting him. He always led by example with action. His expertise in car repairs, home renovations, landscaping, and so much more was admirable.

Kham will be missed by all, but his legacy will carry on. He had a huge heart and loved his wife and family unconditionally.

Kham is survived by his wife, Vieng Manila, Adrian; three children, Ainoi Manila, Adrian; Sandy Manila, Adrian; and Linda Manila, Brooklyn Park; seven grandchildren, Siddney Kounlabout, Adrian; Andrew Nealy, Brooklyn Park; Mickey Kounlabout, Adrian; Gmari Frerotte, Adrian; Tevin Manila, Adrian; Dalina Kounlabout, Adrian; and Tavi Manila, Adrian; two brothers, Tok Phongsawath, Laos; and Maokeo Phongsawath, Laos; and Lamvieng Phongsawath, Laos.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Khamxeo Phongsawath.
