The prospects of fall are showing more every day. The leaves are starting to drop and the sunsets are earlier every night. The Monarch butterflies have been passing through. There is not as many as before and you need to watch for them but it is worth your time. This is the time of year that reminds me why I have the milkweed in my flower garden. It is a joy to watch them. I do remember when they pass through this area. They would mass in one tree and make one stop at this marvel of nature. The monarch numbers are so low that it may not happen again. Treasure the site of one monarch.

The sunrises are later each day until we are jogged back one hour with daylight savings. The migration of the water fowl will start soon enough with its own wonder.

Winter is coming.

Two elderly gentlemen from a retirement center were sitting on a bench under a tree when one turns to the other and says, “John, I’m 83 years old now and I’m just full of aches and pains. I know you’re about my age, how do you feel?”

John replies, “I feel just like a newborn baby.”

“Really! Like a newborn baby, you say?”

“Yep. No hair, no teeth, and I even drool on myself.”
