Closing out a year brings some joy and sadness. It’s a time to reflect on our accomplishments, good or not as good as we hoped. Beyond ourselves we have less control and we can only support the causes dear to ourselves. Government is a nasty business. I understand the negotiations, standing for what you believe, changing what doesn’t work and improving the process as we advance. Our national government is lacking in serving our interests. We have some input available but it seems very limited. Our country stands for freedom and should be open to all. I do think it can be an orderly process with some control, but we cannot have a wall. The office of the President has to be respected by us and by the person in the office. Closing down the government shouldn’t be a solution or an option. It’s a very costly, inefficient and avoidable by all of our elected offices in government. Everything seems to be contested vigorously with a strong feeling of malice. Let’s pray for understanding and accomplishments in our government that will work for the good of all.
It is the holiday season and our thoughts should be centered on all those dear to us. It is a great time to gather the family and enjoy each other’s company. It’s later than we think.
We will have a little winter weather this week. It’s been pretty good the last week or so and we cannot be surprised by a change in Minnesota.
The New Year brings promise for a better life and the ability to appreciate what we have. We also need to look at our accomplishments of the passing year. Most of them would not happen without you, the reader. Without your support, through subscriptions and our advertisers, very little can be accomplished. We thank you for your support and promise to do our best in offering the reflection of our community. We can all work towards a better future with understanding and working together.
This is starting to get heavier than I intended. We wish you best in the new year!
Happy New Year!

I think conservatives and liberals should move to the middle of the road
It makes it easier to run them over.
