Sunday’s weather was the best. Comfortable, calm, dry and very few mosquitoes, made it a day to prepare for winter. It was a day to work yourself to the brink of exhaustion but with a feeling of accomplishment. The trees were in their fall glory with splendidly colorful displays. Monday’s rain erased the splendor as leaves were stripped from the trees by wind and rain.
Ballots have been counted and the name for Heron Lake’s Summer of 2020 celebration will be Blue Heron Days. (Blue Heron was the name of the past Heron Lake High School’s newspaper. According to Wikipedia, Heron Lake was named in 1870 after a local lake where Great Blue Herons were seen.) Plan on being in Heron Lake June 26, 27, and 28. Lots of activities are being planned for all ages.
Adrian boasts some new sidewalks extending mobility for the community.
Fulda will soon host several new businesses. Dollar General will open its doors soon at the corner of Highways 59 & 62. The Probst Jewelry buildings will be the home of two more businesses.
